2017 Golden Globe Red Carpet Winners
2017 Golden Globe Red Carpet Winners

I’ll admit it.  I did not watch the 2017 Golden Globes.  When it comes to awards season, I only care about who wore what on the red carpet.  And, I had my envelope with the nine Golden Globe Award red carpet winners BEFORE the ceremony even began.  Kudos to designers Zuhair Murad and Christian Siriano.  Each had two red carpet winners on the list.

Red Carpet Winner’s Circle

9Naomie Harris in Armani Prive

As always Naomie looks slim and sleek on the red carpet.  This time she’s in an eye-catching metallic column dress.  Her hair was in soft waves and her jewelry was limited to a ring and beautiful earrings.  But she didn’t need much more because the embroidery of the gown took center stage.

8Angela Bassett in Christian Siriano

One of four pink dresses on the best dressed list.  Great color choice for Angela.  I really like this flower petal neckline.  The dress is not overly embellished and yet it is still a red carpet standout.

7Zoe Saldana in Gucci

I love the pairing of the two shades of pink along with the satiny champagne belt. The colors look beautiful against Zoe’s skin.  I also like the soft, flirty, flowy layers.

6Kristen Bell in Jenny Packham

Sophisticated! This look borrows from menswear but it’s not too literal.  It’s definitely made for a woman.  Kristen has the perfect physique to pull off the deep revealing neckline without looking trashy.  It was a good idea to leave the hair down and brushing the shoulders.  The soft side-swept hair has a retro feel that is also very modern.

5Ruth Negga in Louis Vuitton

Ruth is this season’s fashion wonder.  I am rarely disappointed when I see her on the red carpet.  I love the chic short hair.  At first glance, the gown appears to be very simple.  But the metallic sequins, chest plate, and sexy exposed zipper running down the center provides the WOW.

4Felicity Jones in Gucci

This is a pretty romantic dress that’s not too sweet.  I am a sucker for pink and I love the intricate detailing along the hem.

3Issa Rae in Christian Siriano

Issa looks regal and elegant.  She has a wonderful figure and this white dress shows it off without being revealing.  Her makeup is simple and plays to her big brown eyes and beautiful glowing skin.   I also like her braided updo.

2Lily Collins in Zuhair Murad

Lily looks like a dream.  After seeing him outfit Jennifer Lopez, Zuhair Murad is one of my favorite designers to watch.  His design are always feminine and beautiful.  This is no exception.  I liked Lily’s hair styled in this loose updo.  Her jewelry is simple and her deep red lips – courtesy of Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge in Souvenir – bring attention to her face without distracting from how well she wears this dress.

1Olivia Culpo in Zuhair Murad

Best Dressed Winner!!! This is my favorite look of the evening.  I can’t stop looking at Olivia in this dress.   I like that she was not afraid to wear a print.  This is head-to-toe fabulous.  The Zuhair Murad gown is stunning and her hair and makeup are perfect complements.

Congratulations to the Winners

The 2017 Pantone color of the year may be Greenery but we saw lots of pink on the red carpet.  However, the pink was executed in different shades and designs so it wasn’t repetitive.  Slinky metallics were also prominent this year.  I also noticed a lot of diversity on the red carpet which is always great to see.  Congratulations to the evening’s winners.

So what do you think about the 2017 Golden Globes Red Carpet Winner’s Circle? Do you agree? Disagree?  Who were your red carpet standouts?
